Jennifer Buchholz exemplifies the term multipotentialite, so it’s fun to see which hat she’s wearing. She’s a life coach with a travel twist who helps midlife American women work through messy life transitions and encourages them to go on solo travels as a means of self-discovery, to build confidence, reawaken their spirit, and discover what’s possible for their future.

She survived her stint in corporate America until her mid-30s when she left to teach in higher education. Her specialty was teaching returning adult students who were frequently women, topics such as leadership, conflict resolution, organizational behavior, personal finance, and even math! She has a true joy and passion for teaching, and in fact, that’s how she got started doing some of her travels, leading leadership studies abroad to New Zealand and teaching conflict resolution in Colombia.

When Jennifer turned 40 in 2013, her life got “flipped, turned upside-down”, through the loss of a relationship, her pets, and finally the loss of her father. She knew she needed to get away to figure out what her next purpose in life would be. So she began her own journey of self-discovery. Her time in New Zealand gave her the space to decide how to shape her future.

Fast forward to 2015 when Transform via Travel was born out of Jennifer’s desire to help other midlife women who are asking “What’s next?” find that answer using solo travel. Her book Go Solo! A savvy woman’s guide to transformation and self-discovery hit #1 on Amazon just one year ago. Her podcast, Go Solo LIVE! is a weekly program that highlights the solo travels of midlife solo women travelers – it’s the only show of its kind. She’s launching Go Solo U this summer to provide step-by-step help in building your first solo trip.
